Color Guard

Color Guard is a class during the fall semester, and Winter Guard is a class in the spring semester. This group works as a unit with the marching band to visually enhance the field show. Auditions will be held in the spring and are open to any current or incoming FRHS student. In addition to their color guard audition, any student who has been an instrumentalist in any band program in the FRHS cluster will be expected to audition on their instrument and play in their assigned concert band class during the Spring semester or lose Color Guard membership privileges. They are expected to maintain a high level of performance on their instrument throughout the year. Auditions will be held for a competitive Winter Guard during the fall semester. This group has extra costs associated with membership and is a supplemental but important part of the band program. A special instructor is hired to work with the Color Guard students for the year.
